Nose : Rubber, funk and exotic fruit salad with banana, mango, pineapple, orange and Mirabelle plums drizzled with maple and tamarind syrup, plus the woody scents of tree sap, horse chestnuts, acorns and a pile of sports sticks and bats – lacrosse, hockey and cricket coated in linseed oil and crushed grass.
Palate : Afternoon tea at a cricket match with strong black tea, strawberry and raspberry jam and clotted cream on spiced scones, linseed-oil coated cricket bats, wickets and chalk, petrol lawnmower, plus maple syrup, tree sap and a hint of coal smoke.
Finish : Blackberry jam, plus moist ginger cake dunked in strong black tea.
