#11 Wild Card Series – Armagnac Ténarèze Ladevèze Plant de Graisse 2007
Ténarèze Armagnac from Domaine Ladevèze, distilled from the Plant de Graisse grape variety in 2007, Cask Strength 55% ABV, 200ml.
Colour: Deep Gold
Nose: A deep and remarkably seductive nose. It opens with rich, creamy notes of soft caramel, noble oak and delicately roasted fruits. Gradually, the profile brightens with ripe peach, juicy orange, vibrant mango and a selection of exotic fruits. An almost oily texture is complemented by wildflower honey, white nougat and delicate rose petals, bringing remarkable elegance. As the glass breathes, the aromas become increasingly layered, revealing freshly cut hay and very ripe apple that complete this wonderfully indulgent bouquet.
Palate: Rich, generous and incredibly enveloping from the first sip. Exotic fruits burst onto the palate, led by vibrant mango, quickly followed by ripe peach, citrus fruits and beautifully roasted fruit notes. The profile then deepens as caramel, noble oak and empyreumatic notes gradually emerge, accompanied by hints of melted rubber and volcanic stone that add tremendous character. Despite its intensity, the palate remains beautifully balanced, supported by a creamy texture and elegant floral freshness.
Finish: Long, warming and perfectly integrated. The exotic fruits slowly give way to caramel, noble oak and delicate herbal notes that bring welcome freshness. The empyreumatic character lingers gracefully, leaving a deep, elegant and irresistibly indulgent impression.
Conclusion: A remarkably profound Ténarèze Armagnac, where the richness of exotic fruits meets creamy indulgence and beautifully controlled darker notes. Between vibrant mango, noble oak, caramel and subtle empyreumatic nuances, it delivers a tasting experience that is both generous and wonderfully complex. A true favourite for lovers of rich and expressive spirits.
#12 Wild Card Series – Armagnac Ténarèze Ladevèze Ugni Blanc 2009
Ténarèze Armagnac from Domaine Ladevèze, distilled from the Ugni Blanc grape variety in 2009, Cask Strength 54% ABV, 200ml.
Colour: Deep Gold
Nose: Pure indulgence from the very first moment. Strawberries burst from the glass, fresh, juicy and at times almost jam-like. They are quickly joined by raspberries, wildflower honey and delicately melted beeswax, adding remarkable texture. With time, rose petals and a touch of violet enrich the bouquet, while ripe yellow fruits bring even greater depth. A wonderfully distinctive nose, full of freshness and charm.
Palate: Bright, generous and intensely fruity. Strawberries once again take centre stage, accompanied by fresh raspberries, white peach and a touch of mango that brings beautiful roundness. Indulgent notes of honey, soft nougat and delicate beeswax gradually emerge, giving the palate an almost creamy texture. Despite its richness, the freshness remains remarkable, making every sip vibrant and inviting.
Finish: Long, elegant and beautifully balanced. Red fruits linger for an impressive length of time, led by vibrant strawberries, while honey, beeswax and a delicate herbal touch extend the finish with great finesse.
Conclusion: A truly unexpected Armagnac that challenges expectations with a profile dominated by strawberries of exceptional intensity. Between vibrant red fruits, honeyed indulgence and floral freshness, it reveals a unique personality that is instantly captivating.
