« The conductor's walnut baton comes down as the haunting sounds of the violin float across the hushed stage in the Medieval crypt, the gleam of the polished instrument reflecting candlelight, flowers and pulpy sheet music. »
Colour: Rich chestnut
Nose: Linseed oil, walnut oil, polished violin, incense, velvet jacket, satin bow tie, hairspray, apple pancake, strawberry waffles with pistachio ice cream, pulpy sheet music on metal music stands, lilies and roses in terracotta urns, and beeswax candles.
Palate: Fruitier and spicier than the nose suggests with tart apple tarte tatin and spun sugar, pear and cinnamon tarts, dark chocolate-enrobed figs, butterscotch blancmange and walnut whips.
Finish: Chai tea, chamomile tea, crème Anglaise, walnut whips and dark-chocolate dipped apple slices.
Conclusion: Reminiscent of a rich Armagnac, a warming and comforting dram !
