A vibrant, full-bodied cognac selected from Jean-Luc Pasquet, Lot 83 from Petite Champagne bottled at cask-strength 51.9%
«A rich and decadent candlelit dessert in a glass, with fresh fruit and rum truffles in a carved oak bowl »
Nose: honey baked bananas, apple strudel with raisins, cloves and nutmeg, topped with caramelized sugar. Hints of pears and apples, peaches, apricots, grapes, and mango, along with lemon curd, mint chocolate and the aromas of daisy chains and beeswax candles make for a sublime finish
Palate: spiced, roasted meat, bananas, pineapple, Maraschino cherries, and the sumptuousness of ginger cake and slabs of toffee. A smooth palate and creamy mouthfeel is complemented by the lustre of pine resin mingling with the warmth of café au lait.
Finish: deliciously long, accented by rum baba, dark chocolate, rum truffles, and honeyed, mulled rum garnished with peach slices and warmed further by cloves, cardamon, cinnamon, spicy oak, and, for the patient, liquorice.
A splendid cognac for those who adore sherry cask whisky.
